Joe Donohoe is a highly experienced British composer and multi-instrumentalist known for his work on some of the most popular television series over the past ten years.
In 2014 Joe worked alongside award-winning composer Dominik Scherrer and composed additional music for BBC One’s The Missing, starring James Nesbitt and Tcheky Karyo. The show received wide critical acclaim and was nominated for a number of awards, including a Primetime Emmy for Best Music In A Mini-Series. In 2016 he composed additional music for the follow-up series starring David Morrissey and Keely Hawes. More recently he composed additional music for Baptiste, a BBC One spin-off drama series starring Tcheky Karyo and Tom Hollander.
Joe is also known for his work on indie feature films, documentaries and a number of factual entertainment television programmes. Often working alongside award-winning composer Jon Wygens, Joe has composed additional music for BBC Two series Great American Railway Journeys, hosted by Michael Portillo. He has also composed music for Channel 4’s The Autistic Gardener and Ugly House To Lovely House With George Clarke.
Joe has established a reputation as a key collaborator in the creative process. He has a broad knowledge and appreciation of cinema and is well acquainted with the principles of narrative and drama. He is also regularly called upon to assist other television composers in a number of supporting roles, including music editing, developing arrangements, creating custom sample libraries and music preparation.
Joe has a First Class degree in Music Composition from Falmouth University and currently works from two professionally equipped studios in East London.
